I was gonna buy a Rooster 12T for Guido after seeing how well Kaetwo's worked but this Rooster Crawler sounds interesting. Guess I'll wait for more info.

hmm, i thought the 12t bec was on the weak side. whats up with novak, when will they have programming features like the max? i was looking through some of the old novak esc's the other day, they used to have those high end esc's you could program with the plug in programmer and i think a pc interface. i sure wish they would do it again. |

I never heard of progammable ESC's before Castle Creations. But I was out of rc for many years before crawlers. I don't understand why Novak wouldn't do one either. | |

Im glad that they are listening, for sure. I just think it would be a bad move to introduce a new product that doesnt improve on what is already available or make the same technology cheaper. Im fine with running a voltage regulator for servo power. In fact I prefer it so that my RX doesnt have to channel the power to my servos. Tends to cause issues with glitching I have found.

The Rooster Crawler is pretty sweet. I've been knocking one around since February The drag brake is set to hold your rig in place, and does a very good job of it, even the newly-porky Buster. Power delivery is very smooth, and the BEC has enough grunt to run a winch (but not enough to overcome that drag brake My prototype has a much better feel than the Rooster 12, smoother down low and the BEC seems gruntier (if that's a word). Obviously I have no specs on it, but it's been a real winner so far. And no, there's no Castle Link programming. The box-stock profile works just fine There was an outside chance it was going to be named the Goat. I had my fingers crossed. Last edited by microgoat; 06-15-2007 at 02:50 PM. |

I too have been testing these since Feb and agree with everything Microgoat said. This is a great esc that will also work with dual motors. The low end resolution is incredible, and so is the brake. Plus it's entirely MADE IN THE USA just like all of Novaks products. |

You could have driven it, if you'd got out of bed for the GTG at Nelson |

I might like the brushless and sell the good points, but I'm not blind to the advantages of brushed motors for sure. I do have a couple 55t lathe motors and some other brushed motors.

Novak will be uploading all the crawler info to the web-site Mon or Tues. The street price should be the same as the Rooster 12T. The old Novak Cyclones could be programmed thru a device called the Pit Wizard. Must have been before its time because it was not a hot seller! |
