| need help deciding
i need help from the resident guru...... i need a new esc..... i am running a 55t integy v10, 2-jr z9000t servos (300+oz), r2 tranny, and narrowed swamp kongs, on wk axles..... i need a good esc, or esc/motor combo that will handle the abuse, and the 2 robo servos and those huge tires, but i dont want somethin that is gonna give me too much power so that i am always breakin stuff...... i was debating on the sidewinder, quark 33, or of course the mamba max, all of them paired with the ccbec........ i am open to suggestions. |

I'm running the Mamba Max with the CCBEC and I absolutely LOVE it! I went from a Tekin Rebel II to this and there is no comparison. The throttle is smooth and the drag brake is nice! I don't really know anything about the quark, but I don't think you can go wrong with either the Max or Sidewinder. |

| I'd say the Mamba Max or Sidewinder would both be good choices, as long as you also get the CC-BEC. With those you can stick with the motor you're running, or have the ability to go to brushless if you want. If you're going to be breaking stuff, it's gonna be because you're running Swamp Kongs on axles designed for 2.2 size or similar (WK axles). |

I had the Mamba in my AX, then pulled for use in another car so I put the Sidewinder in it. I can't tell the diff. Maybe the drag brake is a little weaker?? But, I only had a 7t pinion when I had the Mamba, now its 15t In my eyes Tonka, there the same thing, unless your going for landspeed records, the I'd go Mamba. Oh, the Mamba plugs directly into the computer, where the Sidewinder you have to buy the Castle Link software with the Servo plug-to-Mini USB adapter Last edited by BigRocks; 02-25-2008 at 06:16 AM. |
