Dual ESC crawler setup: Plug one ESC into AUX 1 Plug other ESC into AUX 2 Front Dig: In the List Menu scroll to MIXING, then Select MIX A, Set master to TH, Set Slave to AUX 1, Turn trim on, Select which switch you want (ex A), Set Value A to 100%, Hit switch set Value B to 0%. Go back to list menu scroll to Switch and set a switch (ex B) to MIX A Rate. Rear Dig: In the List Menu scroll to MIXING, then Select MIX B, Set master to TH, Set Slave to AUX 2, Turn trim on, Select which switch you want (ex c), Set Value A to 100%, Hit switch set Value B to 0%. Go back to list menu scroll to Switch and set a switch (ex D) to MIX B Rate. Now you have dig as well as front and rear proportional. |

how easy is it to use i would think having four buttons would be a pain? Also could you just get rear dig this way?

| Re: DX4S Programming I think after a little time it will be second nature, depending on how much you use it. Yes, you can just set up one axle to dig, with proportional adjustment. |

Sorry I can't answer that, I've never owned a Novak. I got three Tekins but, I didn't have to program anything into the Tekin. I think this would work with any ESC, but I could be wrong. I believe it is all controlled by the receiver, if I'm understanding this right. Then again, I couldn't figure out how to get both axles with dig. (I was close though)

Is it possible for someone to take a video of the end result of the programming so i can see which buttons you use and how it all works, Something similar to this which losikid did for the gt3b GT3B Hack w/ Dual ESC Control - YouTube otherwise could someone do a couple of pretty pics and some explanation? Looking at getting a new TX and was hopeing this might fit the bill, otherwise im getting a 4pl. |

Hi all. I'm considering this radio as I'm currently working on a superclass rig. I need 4ws and front dig functionality... Thing is, the ESCs I have. (Enroute A4) The drag brakes are engaged manually by engaging reverse immediately after forward throttle. So for front dig to work, I'd need a mix that can provide a reverse signal proportional to the forward signal, accessible at the push of a button. I'm sure my Futaba 3PK can do this (I just set the mix at -100%), but I really need a 4ch as I also wish to use full control of 4ws. Could the Spektrum DX4s be suitable? Can that rear ESC mix, be programmed to either simply mirror the front ESCs output, or provide a reverse of that signal? I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to explain! |

Just to say a big thanks to KAM2040, the steps above work a treat for setting up a twin esc crawler, picked up my DX4s on sat and took 10 mins to program with these steps. easy as pie. MOFOHO, could you not use the trim to ensure the throttle is set slightly to reverve to ensure the drag brake is always active when not accelerating? So the dx4 already has a 4wheel steer mix set up so that bit is sorted. There are two user programable mixes aswell, i am a little clueless about mixes and how exactly they work but i think from what you describe the mixing should sort this. |
