Default Servo question

I'm kinda new to rock crawling, and I was wondering what a good servo would be to buy. I'd like it to be a 1/10th servo so if I use 4ws, I don't have to get a reciever pack (would I have to get a reciever pack?), also, what is the easiest way to give the servo 6v? And I don't want to spend very much. Any help you could give me would be great.
