Default I Screwed Up My Radio Antenna

i have the dx3 radio and while doing the dig switch mod i broke the antennea wire off that little gold clip..i tried to solder the wire to the clip and i thought it worked but when i got it back together my range now is only about 25'....my question is can i just solder the wire directly to the pc board...or will i have to live with 25' range ?? thanks guys on an help or suggestions
...also ,i havent done my first comp yet ...how far is the typical range needed in a comp?? will i need more then 25' ??...thanks again

In a comp I normaly stay with in 5 feet of my rig. I would say that your safe.

I use my DX3 for my crawler and I also use it for my Rustler with a castle 4600 brushless in it so 25 feet wouldn't be good enough if he uses his for more than crawling. I would say you soldering it on should work, I dont see why that wouldn't work. If it doesn't just unsolder it and try to think of something else lol.

here is the replacement antenna I have used for my spectrum DX 6/7's. they are what the aircraft guys are using for the 2.4Ghz Spectrum TXs. I would hope that there is some consistency in the antennas for the DX3 & DX6/7 product lines.
