Default Replacing motor wire on a mamba max

Can this be done? I just got a used one and one motor wire is a little too short. It looks to me that it can just be desoldered and replaced but before I go throwing heat at the thing I wanted to check in first. My other option would be to solder an extension on it but I'd rather not do that if I can avoid it.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Yes you can, but you need a hot iron. Whatever solder Castle uses in these seems to require a bit more heat than your typical solder...its almost as if they are welded in, but you can replace them. I have done it several times. With a decent iron like a Hakko soldering station it will be no problem, with a cheaper iron like a Weller 40W with a 1/4" tip you should still be okay.

Thanks for the info! The solder joints did look pretty sturdy but I've got a 60w iron with a big broad tip so I'll give it a whirl this week.
