I run mine down pretty far, I do have a charger that will also discharge them so if I'm not sure of the remaining life I let it take care of that.

But as Suzuki Yota said, don't charge while the battery is still hot from discharging.

Thanks guys.

My charger does not discharge. But it does have peak charge detection.

I just got a new maxamps 1600 split pack last week, and don't want to wreck it. Only got three charges on it so far.

Thanks again.

Its fine as long as you run it down relatively low occasionally. Not too low, nimhs don't like to be completely discharged.

What about if your pack isn't really dead, but it isn't full. say....1/4 or 1/2 dead. Can charging it damage or shorten the life of the pack?

i beleve he means that you havent allowed them to cool and "rest" before charging them again.

I made the change to Li-Po because its a lot easier to use and maintain so im allowed to drive more worry less.

Do lipos have to cool down before you re-charge them? do you have to wait a certain period?
