Talking Help a newbie

Ok guys here goes, please don't shoot me, i am newb to lipo, i have four questions, i have answers for them, but i want to make sure they are the right ones, right now i have a 3s 1800mah x-caliber pack i got from JRH.
1 the settings on any of my mambas (25, max and sidewinder)for use with this pack should be, custom and cutoff voltage at 9v right? not auto lipo.
2 i will charge/balance at 1.8 amps or lower. is this correct?
3 will i need a voltage regulator for my servo?, i tried this pack on my dabull tlt with a 645 hitech servo and as soon as i got into a bind all kind of glitching happened, i went to my 7.2 nimh pack and everything went back to normal.
4 will a cool bec regulate 11.1 volts or it doesn't go that high?

Auto lipo or 9v cutoff is good.

1.8a charge is correct

You probably will need a voltage reg, or a RX pack for steering now

A Cool BEC will work, or a Castle bEC.
