Default 2200mah Li-ion from Apple Laptop!

$53 shipped on Ebay: 8 2200Mah Li-ion cells

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Battery-for-...713.m153.l1262

$6.62 a cell!!! got them 2 days after I paid!!

Apple computer battery pack for a 15" ONYX 667 G4 contains 8 metal cased Li-ion 2200mah cells PERFECT for 2.2's!

Inside the pack there are 8 cells, 4x4 in parallel to give the 4400mah rating @14.4 volts.

Here is a few shots to get some idea of the size.

Now, 7.2v or 11.1v?

These things have proven themselves to me. They can take a beating and keep eating. I have had them underwater, I have pulled high amps from them, they just rock! No idea what the discharge rating on them is but I do know the laptop they came out of has a high rate of power consumption.

Pretty cool. I might have to give this a try. I'm guessing you're not putting in a balancing tap for charging?

Yes I run a balance plug on them and balance them all the time.

I had to run out of town and forgot the plug for the balance adapter last weekend. Charged them @ 2 amps NI-MH for only 15 mins watching to make sure not to go over 12.6v and it worked great! We were able to go out and crawl for about 30 mins

When full charged, I get ATLEAST an hour on my 2.2 with the 2215-12.

Been doing this for a while now. I've got about 15-20 2S packs laying around my house, that vary from 1850maH to 2500maH. You can also take batteries from Cordless Drills, just about any laptop battery, and get some good results. - http://all-battery.com is a good place for information.

I just like these because they are cased in metal, safe, cheap, small, and light weight.

The Dewalt A123's are a little large for my 2.2 and thats why I tried these out.

I have 3 of these powering Super-Steer 6.0 too!

Gotta love Power Density!

I have an almost endless supply of 220mah panasonic cells. They are already setup as 7.4v packs with pcb's in them. I am thinking of ordering some 3 cell pcb's and tearing some of these packs apart and build some 11.1v packs with them. I do have one question though. What charger are you guys using? I have one that is for these packs but if I build 11.1v packs I will be in the market for a better charger.

For a charger I use the Hyperion 1210i. It will charge everything I own, from Ni-Cd, Ni-Mh, Li-Ion, Li-Po, and just about anything else. I just made a 3c 11.1v pack to run in my MiniT, and boy does that thing haul! It's A LOT quicker then it was with a 7.4v 2c pack in it.

sweet thanks. yeah I am wanting the extra voltage to get some extra wheel speed in my comp rig. I might even use them in the rock racer with the 7t puller. I bet it will fly with 11.1v

I get plenty of wheel speed on my comp rig, which is running a Goat and a 1330maH 2c, I think with a 3c battery, I would have too much wheel speed.

Great info! Just bought one and I think I'll make 2 3s packs and 2 2s packs out of them.

are these the same as a123 cells?? They look like a good way to go as far as size and power goes.

As far as I know, no they are not. From what I have found on the Internet, they are the standard Li-Ion batteries.

ok....thats what I kinda was thinking.:-( Other than that how do they compare to nimh and lipos as far as charging and output. Sorry, about all the questions, they just spark alot of interest.

I figure these are like milwalkee cells... not a A123 but still safer then lipo's...

I sent a nail though one for testing and nothing happened.

I am going to take a weak cell and put it on a car battery charger and see what happens. I'll take video but i doubt anything other then smoke will happen.

We shall see.

heres what I am doing! I but these and install them per the instructions.
check out the link!

it is my understanding that these also help balance them as well as current protection.
