DISCLAIMER: I run tamiya plugs. I understand and realize the advantages of Deans or something similar. I don't care.

I'm building up a new crawler, and 6 cell stick packs won't work (no place to mount em...), which leaves me looking for new batteries. I found some batteries that I can mount on my axles... but I need to know if they'll work with my crappy charger.

I have this charger:

Will it Work?

I'm stumped...

Charge rate on the charger is too high, says to charge the battery pack at 1.5a and the charger charges at 2.5a

You already answered your own question. You can use it and then buy more batteries after you ruin them. Save your self some money and get a better charger.

not only does that charger put out too many amps (as stated above) it's for nicad battery's and the ones you were looking at are nimh
