The two settings on the charger are a 4-5 cell reciver pack at 1 amp or a 6-7 cell Sup c pack at 4 amps. i think i should charge it on the 1 amp setting but i am not sure.

It would help to post links to the actual items in question, so we can get a better idea of the specs.

You need a better charger... but for the one you have, the 6-7 cell setting is what you need to use as your saddle pack is a 6cell.

You pretty much have to charge it on the 6-7C 4a charge...................but it is a crappy way to charge, and will shorten the life of the pack greatly.

No charge it at the one amp setting. You'll toast that battery if you charge it at 4 amps.

Default Vision Peak

The charger you have selected is only good at charging older NiCd's. The battery pack uses NiMH cells so the Dynamite Vision Peak 2 would be a better charger and should cost about the same amount. If you ever plan to go to lipo batteries, I would suggest getting a good quality charger now, so you don't end up with several cheaper chargers that cost alot more total than one really good one. "Pay now Or pay more later" as my pops used to say.

1500 2/3a's won't take 4 amps for long.

Your pretty strapped with a charger like that. Either charge your reciever packs or 6-7 cell 4000 mah sub C's

I'd recommend a Hyperion, those chargers are IMHO,top quality. Dang near charge anything you want. Johns got several models to pick from to suit anyones needs and budget......Holmes Hobbies

Yes I know - but for what he has, it is te only option, unless he gets a new charger. I was just answering his question.

It may work just fine on 1 amp (for 5 cell) it's only off by 1 cell and the charger and battery will not know the difference.

your safest bet would be to upgrade to a new charger. If you go with say A Hyperion EOS0606i AC/DC charger it'll cover your crawling needs for a long time whether you stay with NimH packs or if you switch to Li-Po's in the future and then you will have the balancer for the Li-Po's as well.

i was in the same sitution looking for a charger, after asking a lot of quetions, i decided to get the hyperion EOS0606i AC/DC charger from Maxamps. I have a novak millennium i am replacing so i can not wait to get the new one to see how it does. From what i have read, on several sites, it seems to be the best charger out there for under $150 and will charge almost anything you throw at it.

Well that's an easy decision the EOS5I has been discontinued and is no longer made. As I said the Balancer is built into the 0606i and if you register as a member with us you'll get 5% off the first order and then that charger purchase will put you into the 10% off bracket the next time you order from us.

You can register at the left mid section of our home page.
