| I am looking for a new battery for my car, and was curious why no one is runnig the much cheaper Ni-cd and why everyone has to run the ni-mh? What is the major difference? Does the metal hydride hold a charge better? Does it last longer? What is the major benefit? Thanks DIma |

| with a NiMH, you get roughly 30% more capacity for the same weight as a NiCD. A NiMH battery can also deliver MUCH larger amounts of amperage to the speed control and they can usually be charged at a higher rate (faster charge times). The real biggy is that if you only partly use the NiCD and charge it up, it will develop a "memory" and never fully give you what it originally could. |
