| rewireing reversing servo question
well im trying to get rear wheel steering setup on my axial ax10 when setting it up i installed a hitec hs645-mg in the front and moved the stock servo to the back via a y-harness. im using the stock radio and it was working pretty well but i noticed that the stock servo didnt have as much torque and wouldnt keep its line as well as the servo in the front. so i picked up another hs645-mg and installed it in place of he stock servo. but now all my rig does is crab walk. i already know about the servo reversing wire harness but my local shops dont carry them and i dont really feel like ordering one online and having to wait till thursday or friday to come in. and this is one of the few weekends i have off so i wanted to have this issue fixed by monday. so i can take my crawler to work with me. so my main question is; is there a way i can rewire and reverse the servo in the rear myself ? i was thinking about swaping the red and black wires comin out of the servo, would this work? or would i just end up frying somthing? ive done a search through the forums already but have yet to find anything except for people saying to use a reversing y harness. unless i missed somthing in which case, can somone point me in the right direction thanx in advance |

swapping the red and black wires coming out of the servo won't work. i believe you would have to swap the motor wires inside of the servo, and also swap the two outer wires of the potentiometer (the three wire device coupled to the servo horn, inside the servo). my suggestion would be to put the stock servo back in to get you through the weekend, and order either a reversing harness, a punk rc steering computer, or a 3 ch radio.

so i crack open te servo after lunch and am very comfused now. i checked the tutorial by kamikazi but i think he's using a jr servo. as u can see in the pix below the colors of the wires are different and so is the layout of them which pot leads am i suposed to swap ? my guess would be the red and green but can anyone confirm this? and how about the motor leads? im guessing the pink and brown is the black wire soldered onto the can the ground? and shouldnt be touched? and again can somone confirm this ? i cant go to the hobby store today (sunday = closed)to ask the guys there, and would definatly want this servo installed before i get to bed tonight |
