reverse delay between stick and pistol controller?

I know guys the title sounds wierd but question I have is I built a wk based 2.2 crawler I did all the tricks to it and as far as running gear I have a lrp runner reverse not the plus model,a 55 t integy motor geared 96/15 and a hitec 645mg steering servo mounted on the axle and so far I love it tons of torque and pretty good crawling ability since it is my first build of this kind. Here is where my ? is I have a hitec ranger n stick controller but it's been so long since I owned a radio like this and it seems like the reverse delay takes forever to kick in is this common of these radio's compared to a pistol grip or is it my esc that has a long delay.I want to get another controller but I kind of don't wanna get rid of the esc if I'll notice a big diffrence just by switching radio gear thanks for any help.

LRP esc's have a built in reverse delay.
