ok since electronics are not my strong suit i thought i would ask here i am running a berg with 2x 45t motors , 1 mamba max and novak bec recently i have run into the problem of the esc shutting down . my guess is a thermal overload setting in the mamba . upon turning it off and letting is sit for 10 mins it starts working again . this happen to me at this weekends proline wccc 4x , is there a way to bypass the thermal overload feature on the mamba i would rather burn the solder off the thing than have it shut down . one other issue with the mamba max i am noticing is the drag break inconsistancy sometimes it holds like it should while other times it rolls . any ideas would be most helpful cheers

The drag brake inconsistancy could either be motor related or radio related. If you aren't going back to full neutral you won't get full drag. Also, if a brush is hanging you wont get full drag. Is the ESC getting really really hot? What voltage are you running, and do you have the red wire pulled from the ESC's RX wire? What motors are you running (brand)? Thats 4 questions for you

I'm pretty sure the red wire from the esc needs to be disconnected when using an external bec

Yes, remove that red wire so you aren't getting power fed back into the ESC from the novak BEC. That should cool things down and get you running right again.

the switch for the esc was cut out because that's how the novak bec instructions said to wire it , the novak bec has it's own switch. so what your saying is that i need to have both the switch for the bec and the switch for the esc ? this is how i had it wired for a few months now and it never had these issues before thanks a million for this help

Yes. If you cut the red wire the Sidewinder has to be booted up (switch on) internally. I hardwire my ESC's on by soldering the switch leads together.
