Default Cobalt w/3s?

Looking at picking up a HH Cobalt (still). JRH's site states they're rated for 5-10 volts, but how are they holding up for everyone running them with 3s lipo @ 11.1? Are the 7t still driveable with good fine control on the rocks?

Havent had a single problem. I have a 10T Puller on 3S lipo with a Mamba max in my super and a 7T puller on 3S with Sidewinder (had been a super rooster) in my 2.2. Had some low speed issues with the 2.2 when I was using the Super Rooster ESC, but not a single issue now with the Sidewinder. Gear down and Volt up as JRH says...

Just grab a Puller, add 3S power and either a Mamba Max or Sidewinder, slap a CCBEC in and enjoy!!! Just beef up the rest of your drivetrain

I have a 7T with a 12t pinion on a 3s lipo using a tekin FXR . You might have to watch your motor temp, it can get HOT. JRH said 160F is the max temp. It all depends on how you drive. I love it ! super smooth slow control and crazy wheelspeed. Best brushed combo ever ! I recommend a BEC with ANY esc, it takes the extra stain off of the esc. You will break parts !!!! highly recommend slipper clutch. I stripped the stock AX-10 rims with the slipper little too tight. The 7T has crazy torque, you will love it ! well worth the price and wait !

10T puller, 10 2/3cells, and a Mamba Max running through a Ax10 tranny w/13t pinion and VF dig. Great low speed crawl and enough wheel speed to jump gates. Definitely watch the motor temps though, she gets warm.. Torque = broken/sheared front outputs, x3

Best brushed motor i ever bought!!!

Fo Sho!!! A cobalt is just too much motor in my opinion due the numerous broken parts, but many enjoy the wheel speed on tap!! Good Luck!!

5 turn,I wouldn't run anything more than 8 cells. I've run a 5t on a 3 cell. No doubt,it's VERY fun.....BUT,you gotta watch the temps. They'll get warm very quick on a 3 cell. You'll also need a lipo that can handle very fast discharge. These cobalts like power, but they'll dish it out also.

7 turn,They'll handle the 3 cell good, but I think they'll be happier at high voltage with a lighter rig and lower gearing.

10 turn,I've run my 10 turn on a 3 cell and run it HARD. Final gear ratio is 38:1 so it's geared kinda high. Still crawls like a champ at slow speeds but will GIT IT when needed.

There's no such thing. Just add bulletproofness.

I've got a 7T/mamba max running on 14.4V and it's awesome. If you gear down enough the temps aren't too bad. I'm getting a small fan for mine in the future.
