Just built a crawler for a friend and put the 7 cell packs on it with the Rooster and 55T motor. I had the same setup but with 6 cell pakcs and I will for sure be upgrading to the 7 cell packs very soon. It is well worth it for a couple bucks more and had no problems.

I've been running the Rooster Crawler/55t combo on TCS's 6 and 7 cell split packs. Works great and I haven't any problems with mine.

It does say that 7 cells is the max for this ESC. The Tekin FXR can handle up to 9.

There's a little piece of paper included with the ESC, there aren't any 3rd and 4th profiles in the Crawler version.

So does that mean it doesn't have a lipo cutoff?

Yes, the Rooster Crawler has Li-po cutoff. A few months back, Novak started putting a addendum in the package.
The Rooster Crawler has 2 throttle profiles.
Parameter Profile1 Profile 2
W/reverse yes yes
% reverse 100 100
Drag Brake 90% 90%
Li-Po cut-off Disabled Enabled

2 blinks of the red LED will enable Li-Po cut-off.

Default Cell Limit?

Documentation says 7 cell on the rooster.

How many are running 8 without any problems?

Any temp issues pushing it to 8?

no temp issues on 7 that i could note. i was using my neighbors Promatch Matched (when new) 7cell made from ib3800s. got well over an hr of runtime, maybe closer to 1 1/2 maybe 1 3/4 time with the rooster/55t. the heatsink was barely even noticably warm.
