Default Integy 65 pro

I was sold this motor from local shop and not happy. It is in a axial rtr with stock esc and 7.4v lipo. It has no wheels speed and am running the stock gear 14 motor and not sure what the other gear is but stock. Can I make this work or do I by a 40t warrior or a holmes hobby 45t or bruschless mamba pro and esc and be done with it? Also does anyone know what motors are the most popular in high level compition?

I run a Integy 55t with both stock gears and 8.4v NiMh and a CC sidewinder. This set up gives me pretty good wheel speed. Going to a 55t would help, but going to a better esc will make a big difference to.

I run plain Integy 45t, MM ESC and 9 cell 2/3a packs with the stock Axial Gears. I have plenty of wheel speed and tourque.

Change the brushes and add Red springs. Bump the timing up 2 notches, look at the endbell where the screws go into the can, 2 notches to the left from the screw center. 14 pinion ive seen work but 15 was better in what i saw with stock timing.

If you have access or know someone have them cut the comm down to start at .085 and break your brushes in.

thats about all I could do to get a 65 to run decent. you can try those things so you can atleast get some better run out of a fresh motor.

all else fails use it for test and tunes and get a 35 or 45 turn to run comps with.

A different esc will make no difference in the speed of the motor.
