Default Quark pro car 33 + BM16 brushless motor issue

I'm running a quark pro car33 with a BM16 on a 2000 3cell 11.1 lipo, using a hitec 645 servo and a castle bec. runs for 2 min the shuts off, esc gets really warm but steering still works. Shut it off turn it back on works fine for a min. then does it again. i Guess this is what thermaling is? never experienced this problem before. any ideas on what could be causing it? thx. joe

i know its a little late, but did you ever figure it out? i'm having the exact same problem. quark 33 procar, crawlmaster 1000kv, flightpower 1320 3s lipo, cc bec, hitec 5955, is my setup.

My quarks run hot too, but no problems so far.

I have run the 22A with BM16 (on 3S) without problems so it's hard to believe it's thermaling.

In "Safe mode" when there is radio interference the quark will shut down. Try setting it up for "Race mode", although if You are using a 2.4ghz radio interference shouldn't be a problem.

Another idea is checking if You have set the battery & low voltage cutoff settings correctly.

Could indeed be the LVC kicking in. Tallyram, what is the discharge rate of your lipo?

Yep, I figured the CC BEC was starting to give up the ghost from your description on the phone.

got the ubec all wired in and it works great! i had one on my revo for a year running 6s. i went through 3 controllers, but the ubec kept going. it isn't programmable, but it works and should be tough as nails! thanks again JRH!
