Default Power Question?

what kind of power would work best for a crawlmaster by holmes? i cant run lipo due to funding issues. so would it like elite 1500 10 cel 12.0v or would it like the elite 1500 8 cell 9.6v packs? for a ESC i was thinking of MM or sidewinder.

10 cells would be best. The more voltage you send to the motor, the less chance you have of it cogging and the lower geared pinion you can run. The lower gearing will help fight against cogging (stalled starting) and the higher voltage should help get you back the wheel speed. If you can afford it, 10 cells and the Mamba Max would give you the best performance.
