Default Futaba 3PM 3-Channel 2.4GHz? Who has 1?

Looking at this radio for my scale project.

I like that the third channel can be assigned to any switch around the steering wheel. Is anyone using this radio? I'm a huge futaba fan and don't really want any other brand of radio. I've even looked at some of the stick radios that they make but I might use the radio for other vehicles so a stick really isn't an option.

I have one and like it alot - minus the foam wheel grip and the third channel being a 2 position switch rather than a 3 position. But the Fasst system is super smooth and I have yet to have it glitch. I would recommend it highly for a 4WS set-up.

Have you tried using another switch for the 3rd channel? I thought you could use any of the ones around the wheel? I was under the assumption that a couple of them are a three position switch.

Nope... all 2 position.... or trim slide. It's a good radio tho. I like mine.

But what about using a servo winch? Would that be possible?

The buttons around the wheel are for trims only. 3rd channel can be programmed to the 2 position switches only , there are 2 of them. 1 in front of the wheel and 1 on the grip. Great radio, I'm a futaba loyalist . I have a 3PM and 3PK....... I believe you need a 3 position switch for a servo winch, right ?

you can get the third channel to work in a 3 position config but it's not ideal. I managed to get it to shift the Tamiya 3 speed trans so it will work but there are better radios for that out there. Look in the stickied radio thread. There are two posts dealing with the 3PM, one for steering and the other for shifting.

Got one too! The response is phenomenal on this 2.4 system. The grip is comfortable, and the Pistol is lite. Switch config is stock until the DIG is transplanted! Then the $hit should be hitting the fan!!!!

Its a great radio, only issue I have with mine is the foam wheel and the fact that it wont mate up to spektrum receivers, such as if you were to buy the Losi crawler.
