Default Rooster Question. Safe Set Up?

Howdy all

Been tinkering with Wild Willy this week. Recently stuck a 17x2 motor in him among other things. Broke the motor in and went out with a hot battery but wasn't too impressed. SO, got to thinking.......more cells perhaps? Dug through my inventory and found some loose cells. Made a 2 cell pack and mounted it to Willy in a somewhat hidden place. Made up a series connector to run one 6 cell and the new 2 cell pack. This obviously is 8 cells total and 9.6 volts. Made for one heck of a fast Willy. However I can't find anything in the Rooster specs stating real numbers as to what it can handle. So, ya'll think a Rooster can handle 8 cells @ 9.6 volts running a 17x2 motor? I've run it like 3 times now and it seems to be ok. Heat sinks on the ESC are warm but not hot. Shot the sinks with my temp gun right after dumping the packs on a run and it was 90-97 degrees. Probably won't run Willy like this ALL the time, just when I wanna beat my Dad He has a WW2 as well.

Duuuuuuh, thanks Jason. I didn't even think to hit Novak's site Hmmm, 7 cells eh? We're gonna see how it likes 8 for every once in awhile. Probably would eventually toast it if I ran 8 cells all the time. Going out fer another run with hot packs. Look for a puff of black smoke rising from St.Louis, might be my Rooster

Not the magic smoke! That's the stuff that makes electronics function, if it comes out it'll stop working.
