I am starting on a Twin Force crawler with only front steer for now. Need a good servo with plenty of torque and durability, decent price preferably under $50, and runs off a single 7.2 volt pack via the speed control. Also, which servo saver to match?

Firstly, I gotta ask, are you in Ohio? (OSU Buckeyes?) I'll suggest the old stand by, HiTec 645mg. I run two off my SR, no problems at all. Kimbrough #124, or the Ofna big one.

Could you be from the Tampa area? Anyway, the new Bluebird BMS 660 has more torque and they added a motor heat sink. It does pretty good for under $50.

You really have full choice of servos if you are running a super rooster and only want front steer. Mine can do one 1/4 scale with no pack. Just cant do two. So pick any you like.

The Ohio State University. I grew up in a small town on the Ohio river (Belpre). In the near future I will have 4 wheel steering, but to get the rig up and running, just going for front steer. I would prefer not to run a RX pack and just run two servos from the 6 cell. Is it necessary to have the rear servo to match the front servo's performance? How about the Hitec 5645 MG (just over $50 though). Also, will digital servos eat the battery quicker?

The HiTec Digital servos tend to burn up quicker then their regular servos. It's be proven a few times by members on this site. So if you are going to use HiTec, go for the regular servo. | |
