Default which setep to go with??

Ok someone may have already asked this and i'm sorry if i'm asking again but i couldnt find it anywhere else. I'm building a maxx crawler and i want to use a integy 55t lathe motor since i here they have good run times and are an overall good motor. Then i was going to use a tq3 and a regular traxxas reciever for my radio. I only want to spend roughly 30 buks on a esc and i have no clue which one to go with, or which one will work with my motor. Also wats the best batteries to go with?? i was going to buy like 3 3000's on ebay for like 40 or 50 buks, but i have no clue wat voltage to go with......7.2.......8.4?? Any help will be greatlly appreciated and i'll be sure to get some pics on here when i start my crawler.

Welcome to the board!!

It'll be pretty hard to pick-up a good esc for that price. Are you going to run 4 wheel steer? If so, I'd invest in a Super Rooster or Tekin Rebel ll. They have the highest BEC output, which powers your steering servos.

Any esc can handle a lathe motor.

Batteries aren't real critical to us, any high capacity 7.2v pack will work fine.

You might be able to find a super rooster on ebay for arond $30 but I wouldn't waste my time. I suggest spending the cash early on and use the sr for your later projects. By the way welcome to the board!

turst me, you won't need 3 3300mah batts, i get 45 minutes runtime with a good 7.2v 1500mah pack with my 55t lathe motor. all i need is 2 1500mah packs, drive one while the other charges.

yea i was thinkin bout pikin up mayb jus one 3000 or 3300 cuz that would prolly last about an hour wouldnt it. Then i could charge it and let my motor and electronics cool down. Or would they not even really need a break.
