Traxxas EVX problems

I'm sure there's a post out there about this but I can't find it fast enuf! I've got a Clod and a C'Zilla - I have the EVX for both of them to install but am having a problem. When all connections are made proper, I can get steering for both but no motor. When I attempt to set the ESC by pressing the setup button I get no "solid" light. When I turn the ESC on, I get a red light, but it flickers a bit. When I push the setup button the light goes out and does not come back on. I can get steering so I know there's power. The strange thing is - the `Zilla had this same set up and worked fine but now it's this same steady red light and I cannot reset. HELP!!!!!!
