7 cell 2/3a volt ?

Hey guys I bought a (used/like new) Integy 7cell 2/3a 8.4v 1400mha. nimh Before I use the battery I tested battery on my volt meter. It reads 9.2v ea. cell reads 1.2v on battery. EA. cell on volt meter reads 1.3v. Here's my ?? Is this ok to run on my rooster crawler esc.? What do your guys 7cell batteries read on volt meter.
I did run this on a rig that has a moped esc worked fine. Just dont want to fry my RCE ESC

It's all good my friend, Novak spec 4-7cells Ni or 2 cells lipo and i'm certain that they allow for peak voltage of these cells not just the nominal.
Using 3 cells lipo on goats and roosters is excessive and not recomended. A fresh 3s lipo will be at 12.6V which is a long way higher than your 9.2 7 cell.

most packs peak out somewhat higher than the rating. You will be fine. "thumbsup"

What he /\ /\ /\ said.

I have the same ESC. When I add a 7th cell after a fresh charge, my packs are at about 10.4v (peaked). They settle out quickly in the 9++v range.
The magic smoke hasn't escaped the rooster yet.

For sure there is a significant voltage difference between what you see when a pack is freshly charged and not connected to anything vs its voltage output under full load.

Incidentally this is the same phenomenon that causes problems in certain motor/ESC/battery combinations. A hot motor can draw more power than some batteries can deliver and you get the "turbo lag" effect. Compounding this is the case where the battery voltage dips below a programmed low-voltage cutoff value (ie ESC set up for LiPo) causing "stuttering" or a complete, momentary shutdown of the power train....
