Airtroncis M8 question

I have the M8 as stated. I was wanting to know how easy it would be to set this radio up to run dig. I know it has three channels I am just not sure how to run the third as a dig. I don't have a manuel on this radio as I bought it used. Anyone running this radio with a dig and how user friendly is it? Should I stick with this radio or ditch it for a better one?

The 3rd channel on an M8 is the turn knob. You can get it to work, it just isn't as nice as a 3 position switch.

You could always download the manual.

yup, channel three is on the knob to the left of the steering wheel. It's tough to use, since the knob has no endpoints (the transmitter has settings for th EPA for channel 3) so the knob can just spin and spin, with no visual reference to center. That makes it hard to find the freewheel spot in the middle of dig, and 4WD.

I've swapped to my M11, much nicer moving the 3rd channel to any button you want.

Here's the manual dnld for you http://www.rcdocuments.com/

Cool thanks for the download. I will check it out. So, it sounds like the 3rd channel is not the greatest for dig. That stinks. I am not going to bother with that radio if that is the case. I will try and sell it and see if there is a better one. Any recomendations? What does everyone think is the best radio to run dig with?

Best radio for dig is the DX3R.

Mr. Terror is right on on this. If you do a search on the M8 you can find a few post about this & what can happen if you try to replace the pot with a switch.

That's the problem, it's not a pot, it's a dial.

I really like the M11 for dig. you can put it on one of about 5 buttons, make it just 4WD-dig or 4WD-freewheel-dig, and with the menu up, you can quickly adjust EPA on the fly.

The DX3R is friggin sweet though, especially how light it is.

On my M8 I run a servo stretcher for my dig servo and added a lever to my dial, center is front dig freewheel and all the way clockwise is 4wd and all the way counterclockwise is dig with rear locked.
