ok so i jus got my esc in today and i was readin on it and it said to place it as far away from the reciever as possible because of interference. but then i read on here some where that i should have the esc as close to the motor as possible so i wanted to do that but i also wanted to keep my esc up front for more cooling. so my question is........are any of these problems actually a real concern or will it not matter if my esc is 4 inches away instead of 8. any help will be greatly appreciated . thanx a lot.

As crawlers we have an advantage... We're never that far away from our trucks. My RC18MT is capable of well over 40mph and let me tell you, the radio setup on that truck is a pain. That said, yeah, mount the reciever as far away from everything as you can. And that's exactly what it means, as far as you can. You don't need to mount it 8" away I don't think. My ESC is probably 4" away from the rec. and it's fine. Also, I don't worry about wire length. As long as you use a heavy enough gauge you should be able to mount the ESC pretty far from the motor and have no problems. If you were racing and using a super high performance motor, I might feel different. But for crawling, it doesn't matter, other than just to make it look nice and neat. -Jay

Yep, your best bet probably is to experiment with placement. I had my RX over the motor at one time, for about 2 minutes. It didn't like that at all. Then switched 'em around and it was all good. Every once in awhile I'll get a glitch but I think it is from the SR running two servos. Least that is what I've been told. :?
