Default Delta peak threshold settings??

I just bought a Duratrax Onyx 230 so that I'd have more precise control over my batteries.. My other charger was cheap and all I could do was select from 1, 2, or 4amp charge and that was it..

Now I can select the exact amperage that I want different batteries charged at but I'm confused on where to set the peak voltage threshold settings at? I'll have to look but I believe the charger can go from like 3 upto 20 millivolts..

Batteries I need to charge:

two 8.4v NiMH saddle packs they are elite 1500mAh cells. I had been charging them at 1 amp.

I just got a Losi mini crawler and have two 6-cell Nimh packs one is an 1100Mah and the other is a 1500mAh.. I was just going to charge them both at 1 amp.. But they are new so I charged them both at .5 amps for the first time was that necesary? I read somewhere that it was a good idea.

With my new charger the directions said with these Nimh batteries to charge with the peak threshold at around 5 millivolts does that sound right? What difference does it make if I go higher or lower??

could you elaborate on this, and is this for all cells?

Well the charger adds it up automatically So yeah 3mv per cell but you only adjust it to 3. But you dont add it yourself. if you have false peaking issues, go to 5mv and no higher. Too high and you will kill the packs

I have a Duratrax Pirahna digital charger, and it has the same feature. ALL 2/3A packs (even two brand-new intellect 1400 packs) and most of my sub-c packs false peak BAD if I have it set lower than 10.

How can I tell if my charger is false peaking?? It does say how many mAh it charged the battery lets say I'm charging a 1500 mAh rated pack adn it only charges like 1350 or 1400 mAh does that mean it's false peaking?? I'm thinking more along the lines that the battery wasn't completely drained and therefore it didn't need that much of a charge to be full???

The pack should be warm after a charge. If it didnt get up between 110-120 when it peaks, it false peaked.
