Novak no longer makes the Super Rooster. The Rooster Crawler was specifically designed for crawling applications.

If you have specific questions about your application, you can email steve@teamnovak.com for assistance.

I'm running the Rooster/Fifty Five...have had good luck with it thus far. I am looking to volt up to 11.1 volts and run the Cobalt 7t from Holmes however and will be changing to the Tekin or the Mamba Max. But the Rooster is pretty solid!

I have a super rooster on my shafty and two tekin FX-r's on my berg super.

The super rooster tends to have glitches periodically, and is not as precise when it comes to applying small amounts of throttle. Not to mention that the physical size of the unit is huge.

The tekins have yet to cause me a problem, are extremely programable, and are physically tiny.

I would reccomend tekin.

Default Drag/Hold Brakes

Tekin Rebel 2 only has normal brakes like those you want for your stampede or basher.
I believe this is the same for the Super Rooster.

For a true crawler app. you want Drag or Hold brakes.

The Rooster Crawler Ed. has hold brakes. The second you dump the throttle, it holds the rig stopped. I like this on my 2.2 with the 55t novak motor. If you are gearing for a little speed in your rig, hold brakes will seem jerky and hard on the drivetrane.

Tekin FXR, Castle Mamba Max (and sidewinder?), and Quark Pro Car ESC have drag brakes which slow you to a stop when you let off the throttle and are adjustible.

IMO thats the way to go. drag brake is so much more useful IMO than hold

I love my good old Super Roosters!!

But to me the best ESC's are the Mamba Max, Sidewinder, and the Tekin FXR's.
