hey bad news, lathe motor started smoking when i ran 14.4v so im back to 7.2 and ill just deal with getting lwoer gearing. the nice thing about the 14.4v is that reverse actually worked. because with 7.2 reverse SUCKS

I just ran my TLT yesterday with 10 cells(12v) on my new lathe motor, ran 5 packs through it and it seemed ok. Maybe you could try running 12v through the evx and see if it will work that way.

| I have been running my lathes with an EVX for awhile now. Last Sun. the rear axle locked up on me. When I pullled the motor to see what was up I found the motor was locked up. I pulled it apart and found one of the winding wires had come loose and got jammed between the armature and one of the magnets. I wonder if it is due to the excess rpm from running 14.4 volts or if it is just a sheit happens deal. Anyone else have this kind of problem with the lathe motors? | ya i would run it at 12V less strain on ESC and motor and im sure you wont notice that much decrease in speed or need it |

Made myself a 12v battery pack yesterday but have noticed that I am getting arcing on the motors if I go from full throttle to no throttle by just letting go of the stick on the transmitter. Why does this happen?? Should I remove a couple of cells for safe operation. Running two 55T lathe motors in parallel on a Clod.

you get arcing because your comm needs to be cut and trued. running lower voltage is always safer. as far as the motors throwing winds, the higher rpm will definatly cause more of this, but it shouldnt be an issue really. They are made for 12V after all.
