I just, for the first time, visited HH's new and updated webshop. Checking out the Revolver S' status I also notice that the motors are now said to be NOT sensored. ![]() Is it just a bit of flawed data input, or are the motors now really being made without the one detail making them stand out from the competition? |

The old revolver wasn't sensored, probably just pulled the wrong info forward onto the new site.

We are officially starting production again with the 540 size Sensored Revolver! We will be handling most assembly in house, and have the CNC and winding factories on the right page to restart production. This is the first time I've ordered bulk from these factories directly, so lead time is an estimate between one and two months. Because of performance overlap with the Puller Pro Stubby, we are shelving the Revolver Stubby at the moment. I have found the Puller Pro Stubby to offer as good startup, but with far wider RPM range, and thus better utility. So if you are looking for a shorter and smaller motor, I suggest the Puller line at this time. We will re-examine smaller outrunner options once the 540 Revolver is steadily in stock. Yes, we have found a method of fixing motors with slight sensor offset, which is practically the only issue besides overheating. Basically, we rebuild it with reverse rotation and the esc likes the reverse offset.

That's the "besides overheating" part. We do have plenty of stators now that can be used for rebuilding smoked motors.

Is there going to be a revolver s torque monster? Is the sensor board on the 540s waterproof or can they make it for an additional price? I read a bit through the thread but was still kind of unsure. Also I noticed holmes said momba max pro was a good esc is the holmes waterproof BLE just as good? (I know it's a Holmes product just curious)

Curious, what is the difference between the Holmes BLE and the castle? I assume same hardware and the programming is different? If so what's different? More drag brake ect?

I've been reading more looks like you can change the switching frequency also which is cool! And obviously you can use it on brushed motors too. I will end up getting it and a revolver 540s can't go wrong with Holmes I just wondered why earlier in the post he said go MMP.

We did if he sent it, I'm not where I can check. Shipment of the motor parts landed yesterday, and I'm happy to say they made what I wanted! I'll assemble a few into full motors for sensored testing and then we will have the first batch of 540 size up for sale. |

One in the hand is worth two in the bush 150 grams before plugs and sensor board. Less than a brushed 540, and slightly shorter. Flux gap area of the revolver 540 is 1759mm squared. An absolutely ridiculous amount of active motor for the size, which is a main reason these motors produce so much torque. In comparison, our large rotor brushless Trailmaster 540 2 pole has 880mm sq FGA. The puller pro 540 (a 550 by industry racing rules) has 1319mm sq FGA. In non geek speak, these motors can pull some very massive vehicles with no problem and no worries about gearing. |
