Hmm. Novak claims the goat 3s complies to the roar guidelines.
But do you think the new goat will power a outrunner, unsensored?

No, novak does not have any sensorless control.

The goat motor or ESC is roar lega? I know the ESC is.

Maybe I understand this wrong, This is from the novak site pertaning to the goat 3s:
Any motor used must have Thermal Overload Protection, which protects the system from overheating and damage. In fact, the ESC will only operate with brushless motors that have built-in thermal protection that follow ROAR guidelines.
But really I kinda asking about all of this, not trying to state things I know little about. So dont take what I say to serious.
Besides some of the problems Tekin is having with ESCs burning up, RS seems like a worthy option for a ESC that will run sensored and sensorless.
Will the outrunner your workin on work with the new goat ESC?

It should work, I may have to put in a resistor or thermistor to make it happen.

I have the motor wound up, and it is running properly in sensorless mode. I can't seem to get the sensors to fire however. I have a secondary sensor block that I need to switch out and see what is going on. As I get any free time, I make a bit more progress.

Very interested in getting an outrunner from JRH. Sensorless or not. Anything in the near future? Outrunners hold a special place in my heart.

Keep up the Great Work

Big update on the outrunner! I finally figured out why my protoypes were not working propertly. Big smack to the forehead for me, I should have seen the problem in the CAD file but was not thinking critically enough to catch it. The sensor board was designed wrong and doesn't work properly.

One more round of prototype parts should get this figured out. Dang, is it about time to get these running or what?

The first one will be around 1000kv or 1800kv depending on magnet count. I will likely have a 14 magnet and 10 magnet endbell available once this is rolling into production.

I'm really stoked to see this nearing production. This seems like a great solution to a lightweight, high torque crawling motor. Any chance that it'll be as smooth as your 7 pole cobalts? I really like my 7t.

There is always tradeoffs with construction on a motor, so I have a few different designs in the pipeline. The most likely first comer will be a 540 size outrunner, and 540 or 550 inrunner. Then a 400- 499 size outrunner of 28mm OD (1.1")
