Default Servo Heat Sink.

I run the 645mg servos and I also have ran the 1/4 scales and I know they both can get hot and I'm to cheap to buy the heat sink cases and also wanted something diffrent so this is what I done.I looked around the house and decided to tear apart and old computer and swipe the heat sinks from it to use on the servos.I used the artic silver heat transfer paste to put between the servo and the heat sink to make a good joint then used loctite epoxy to glue the heat sinks to the servo's then I learned from thefordmccord that artic silver has a heat transfer paste that is also a epoxy so that should work better if you can find it.I hope this helps you guy's out I figured it was time to start letting my idea's be known.I will post pic's of the setup after I find the artic silver epoxy.

That is an excellent idea!

I use hobbco cs-80 giant scales and run them on 7.2. They get pretty warm.

I went to the attic and snatched open a couple of old computer cases.. I found a couple of gold anodized cpu heatsinks that just about matched!

I used the heat transfer paste, but instead of gluing them I just used a zip tie.

since ur on the topic of servo heat. i still run a savage and im modding it for 4 wheel steering and i need the servo to be right next to the engine. will it stay cool enough or should i worry about it over heating. ( just 4 u electric guys the nitro engines can get to 200 to 280 degrees so do i need to worry?

I wouldnt think there would be a prob. Ive never owned a nitro but I cant imagine the engine getting hot to enough to cook a servo. I mean your body doesnt melt, does it?
