Default controler/reciever swap

can I take the reciever off of another rc (even if its a crappy one) and the on/off switch and use them with the controller on another set-up?

If they are compatable, yes.

Your radio (controller) should say something like AM or FM, and 27 or 75 Mhz on it. The receiver your planning to use needs to have the same designation.

So if your radio says AM 27, your receiver must be AM 27. Then it's just a matter of putting a matching crystal set into the radio and receiver.

If you cannot find any markings to tell you what frequency and band the radio or receiver are the only way to find out if they will work is to try it and see.
