First, recalibrate your ESC throttle positions.

Then the easiest thing to do is start with a new model memory and retry. Sounds like you had some pre-existing settings in there or missed something in the setup.
Thanks I found out my new BR-XL wont calibrate no matter what I do. it just flashes lights like it is working but wont go into calibration mode, wont power the motors (my other one does both just fine ). So things I tried to get it working:

Reset Model
unplugged everything from receiver tried it in channels 2 and 3 nothing
tried the front motor with it
tried reprogramming it with castle link
tried working esc in every situation I tried non working and it worked fine

So at this point I'm starting to think it was just a bad esc instead of something in the radio system.

Get ahold of JRH and he will get you walked through any problems I'm sure. He is also a Futaba driver so he can help incase it's a radio problem as well. Although if it's programming you're probably just better coming back to this thread as I don't think John really ever got too far into it. I don't even think he was running the PREVIOUS suggested setup.

Definitely not needed, however I still run one most of the time.
What about the r614ff?

Harley, do you have one of the 4PKS's yet? I was talking with another Futaba team driver over the weekend who couldn't get any of his 604's to work with the 4PKS. All his 603's work fine though. Is this a common thing? We tried both C1 and C2, holding the radio close and about 12" away, nothing worked. Before I look into an S, I want to be sure. Replacing 8 receivers will not be cheap.

I have not tested the range but apparently the answer is yes.

I took the external antenna out of my614 and it works on the bench. I'll try to get some range testing done and will let yall know.

I have set my Berg, Mini and GC3A all up on my 4PKS. All still have the 604's in them. Shut the tx and rx off and then turn the tx on then the rx, holding the tx withing a couple inches of the rx push the bind button on the rx and release.
Worked fine for me each time I bound to the rx's to the PKS.
Make sure your on C2

Thanks J-Dawg. Maybe I'll have mine soon. I got to look at one close up and seemed pretty happy with it.

Is there a way to program it so both directions are scaled.
Based on the crawling we do here, I would like to give it a try.
I can imagine a couple of circumstances where slowing down the front motor would be beneficial. I have been known to climb obsticles in reverse.
Did you forget about me? Just kidding.
I played around with it this weekend and managed to goof it up so bad, I reset everything and started from scratch. Still does the same thing though. Scaleable in forward, full in reverse.

I did and I appologize

Go to your Dial Menu. If you have it setup as PM1-B then set up another DT button to be PM1-A. If you have it as PM2-B then set it as PM2-A.

Hey Harley,

My DT-3 toggle is so sensitive that temperature (warming up in the sun) or even the slightest bump will cause it to activate (beep) and and change mix. I can just tap the handle of the radio 10 times and watch DT-3 drop from 100 to 0. It's especially bad when it's hot outside. Any idea how to modify the switch to make it less twitchy?

Cheers,

That sounds like an issue that Futaba service would definitely take care of for you. I have never heard of an issue like that.

If you feel like opening it up yourself it is very simple though. Just take off the wheel and the 3 screws that hold on that portion. Then there are a few screws on the back side of that piece. It is easy to disassemble and take a look at. The "spring" mechanism for the DT switches are just molded plastic. You may open it up and pop that rocker off to see if anything is possibly stuck in there. Otherwise give Futaba a call and get it sent in.

Harley,
Is there a way for me to use DT1 like an on/off switch for the front (or rear) dig?
the way I am using PS1 for example.

I started messing around with things and ended up with a cluster.

Nope, you just have to get used to this setup. After you are used to it, the functionality is far better. You don't have to worry about switching into rear dig if you are toggling front dig on and off rapidly. Tons of people ask this but after running it they all realize that it is a better setup.

Hey Josh, just got my 4pk and used your YouTube videos to get it setup and it's working great. Only question is, I am using dual sidewinders and a cc bec and when axial release the rear cutting brakes for the xr10, how can I free up my 4th channel port in the receiver? It's a r604fs Thanks

When that happens you will need to wire your CC BEC directly to the servo or servos.

Basically what you do is take the power and ground ouput from the BEC and wire it into the power and ground to the servo. The servo only gets signal from the RX then.

It's a pretty easy task to accomplish really. I'll do wiring diagrams and videos for the XR10 using cutting brakes as soon as they are available.
