You should be able to plug the BEC into the DSC port shouldn't you? It should be a power in but not a power out port on the reciever.

Go to your Dial Menu. If you have it setup as PM1-B then set up another DT button to be PM1-A. If you have it as PM2-B then set it as PM2-A.
Worked perfect.
Thank you much..

Hey guys. Gonna setup 4pks and dual FXR's tonight, for the first time.
I will follow the setup instructions here from Harley, but have one question.
(BTW, I am a new Futaba owner coming from Spektrum so learning)
(Also new to MOA's)

When I calibrate the radio throttle settings to the ESC's, do I have the radio pre-programmed with Harleys setup, or a clean model memory with esc's plugged into ch 2 and ch3?
I have 4PKS and it has R614FF receiver

I did the Harley setup then the ESC throttle calibration.

Either way, it's really easy to recalibrate the FXRs to the radio. I actually only remembered to calibrate them because one was coming on sooner than the other and giving me interesting handling....

Thanks Harley, and guys for all of this 4pk programming help/tips

Very impressed with the Futaba 4PKS. Makes my DX3R feel "Toyish"

So I just watched your newer vid on the 4pk set-up...I have been running your OG set-up and just changed to your new set-up and now I have a question??
my set up is as follows..but my issue is the "MODE"

mine does not want to go to the "ON" I put the "MODE" to ACT and it shows like this...

PMIX1
FWRD: -100
BRAK: -100
MST: TH
SLV: TH
MODE: ACT (OFF)
OFST: 0
MXMD: MIX
TRIM: OFF

PMIX2
FWRD: -100
BRAK: -100
MST: Th
SLV: CH3
MODE: ACT (OFF)
OFST: 0
MXMD: MIX
TRIM: OFF

in you youtube vid it shows like this...

PMIX1
FWRD: -100
BRAK: -100
MST: TH
SLV: TH
MODE: ACT (ON)
OFST: 0
MXMD: MIX
TRIM: OFF

PMIX2
FWRD: -100
BRAK: -100
MST: Th
SLV: CH3
MODE: ACT (ON)
OFST: 0
MXMD: MIX
TRIM: OFF

what going on with mine???

I had some weird gliching with my new servo today so I'm trying to make sure my TX is programed the right way..

thanks

oh yeah....is there any problems or issues with taking the TX antenna off?? I only use the 4pk for my crawlers so I never get very far from my rx...and would like to take the antenna off the tx...

You're not doing anything wrong. The (ON) or (OFF) part will toggle when you push the PS1 or PS2, after you program those two buttons. Just finish the programming steps and that will work itself out.

Many of the crawlers remove the antenna fromt the TX. I would estimate you still get about 100 feet of range depending on your surroundings.

Keep in mind that binding the Tx and Rx without a Tx antenna could be an issue. If you take it off, don't loose it.

Hai,

Just see the wiring http://www.harleydesigns.com/images/wiring_4pk.jpg

Will it work with dual BL ESC (Novak Goat + ballisitc 18.5T combos) ?
Same setting as the pic ? No need to use dual BEC ?

About the pic ... the ch. 2 & 3 will be used for esc 1 & 2, right ,.....
and the 4th ch. will be used for BEC ....
Also the cable from BEC to rx, so far the BEC from Novak goat only 2 cables (red and black), what the function of the 3rd cable (yellow color on the pic).
Do I need to make this yellow cable on my Novak BEC ?

Thanks

You are correct, ESC's in channel 2 and 3. The BEC will go in channel 4. There is no need for the signal wire on the BEC. The Castle BEC's have this wire so that you can program it via the Castle Link cable.

Sorry I don't have time to read the thread to probably find my answer. But I am using a 3pk with two esc right now but switching to the 4pk radio. Will the the R603 receiver work or do I need the R604 receiver to use the 4pk for its full capability. Thanks

For a typical 2.2 MOA setup the 603 is fine. If you want cut brakes or a super class setup you will need the 604.

Thanks for the info.
But if I use the included Novak BEC in the package, will it work ?

Yeah, there is nothing special about a BEC. Most of us just use castle because they are programable and are 10 amp.

Thanks Harley,
So I just need one BEC attached to the battery, right.
The Novak BEC included in the package only rate for 3 amp output.

Do you think it's sufficient for SDX-901 (http://www.sanwa-denshi.co.jp/servo-01.html#SDX-901)... ?
