Yes. It has a 2 position 3rd channel so you can do whatever you want, as long as it is 2 positions.

Yes, what he just said. The old DX3's and the new DX3R's have 3 pos switch for dig.

I beleive so, but I've never used one

the NEW dx3S I believe has a 3 pos, and is the same price as the 3.0 (3.0 being phased out)

Is the 2-position switch on a circuit board or something? I have not opened up my 3.0, was hoping to find a solution for a 3-pos rather than blaze a trail if you get my drift.

DX3r is the way. The 3.0 will do 3rd channel in a 2 position or a scroll through all the travel, i.e. for mixture adjustment, but does not have a set stop. I hate that the dx3s only has the 2 position 3rd channel or I would have bought one. But having to buy the dx3r and all new receivers to match ( I have the a 2.0 and the a 3.0 with the older style receivers ) makes it a pricey proposition unless you drive a Hummer or have full blown Chavez money.

So are you saying I can remap one of those orange buttons to the 3rd channel? Can't you splice in a 3-pos into one of those?

You can set the radio to use the bigger thumb button to give you a on/off dig ( 2 positions ) or use the little orange trim button to scroll through the travel of the servo, but you have to hold it and it will slowly move all the way through the travel. The thumb button is a momentary switch. I do not think there is anything that can be done to the dx3.0 to have a true 3 postions 3rd channel. The instructions even say the 3rd channel has a left, center, and right position, but it does not.

It is on the board, but its the software that only gives it 2 positions, not the switch. The older radio had a true 3 position switch and that let you put in a toggle. The 3.0 uses software and a mementary switch to go back and forth.

If that is the case, how do they do the servo sweep if you bind the 3rd channel to the other thumb switch?

I have the DX3.0 and I love it but I wish I bought the DX3R. 3 position dig is the way to go. Here is a link to a website here you can get the DX3R for 259.99 just add it to your cart and the discount shows up
