Default ESC on fire. Help?

Hello,
My dad and I bought two brand new Tekin FXR's
We ran it for a day and they worked GREAT!
During the car ride home, we smelled something burning and realized it was near my ESC. I unhooked the battery from the FXR and brought it home.
We charged the battery (joked about something blowing up or catching on fire). We plugged the batteries into the ESC (without turning it on!!) and to our surprise there was a fire (yes a fire, not a spark or smoke). I think the flames came from the 30 micro pharot capacitor that we put on it. Is the FXR fried?
Do you think it will work if we put a new capacitor on it?
Thanks,
Alex

EDIT:
The Tekin FXR is smoked... We tried it without the capacitor and flames came out of it.
This was only one day of run!!! Like 1 and a half hours!!

Are you running a ccbec? if so you need to remove the red wire from the esc's receiver plug.
