I have a MRC superbrain 977. I want to go lipo and the charger charges lipo. What can I do about a balancer. Something easy to get started with and learn. I want to run 11 volt 3s batterys. I have a ckrc lipo right now, I am thinking about getting 3 or 4 zippys from hobbycity. thanks

You will have to get a separate balancer for the batteries. One thing to keep in mind is that different batteries may have different balance plugs which means you will have to get different balancers or adapters as well.

The Hyperion LBA-10 is a good one I use. You can also get multiple adapters for it to suit different balancer plugs. Its designed to work with non-balancing chargers and gives clear instructions on how to use it.

I would not use that charger. MRC Chargers dont charge lipos right. You may have alot of issues

I have been using the MRC 977 for over a year now and I have never had any issues. I am running 3 different Lipos. I use the Blinky balancer.

MRC 977 uses a constant current and no constant voltage. Termination voltage is 4.2 volts on many packs I have tested. Many who do not understand the cc/cv aren't concerned. Many who do understand cc/cv are concerned. It's the fastest way to charge at a specific rate. The 989 uses a cc/cv charge for lipos.
