Default hitec servo specs

i was just wondering what i'm really getting out of this sevro. it's a hitec hsr 5995 tg. this is on my axial scrpion with novak 55t and speed control. the manufacturer states-stall torque @ 6v 333oz/ @ 7.4v 416oz/standing torque-@ 6v 433/ @ 7.4v 541oz. i'm using a standard 3300mih stick pack for the time being. so what am i really getting here?

What is the actual voltage you are applying to the servo?

Playing around with the spec'd figures indicates that the output torque is fairly linear wrt to the applied voltage (based on the 2 defined points).

Or, expressed as a mathematical equation:

Torque = K (constant) x voltage

If that is not close enough for you, you could set-up the servo with a moment arm, with the free end pressing down on a weigh scale to read the force. Take the force value and divide it by the arm length to get a torque figure.

actually, MOST RX units only pass 6v thru them. so even on a 7.2 or 8.4v 8cell, the rx will only allow 6v to pass thru (most of them, not all).

also most servos wont handle over 6vs. unless otherwise stated as the 5955s are. so unless your running a power splitter for the steering servo power, your servo is seeing 6v and getting 333 in/oz of torque.

What esc are you using? most esc bec's only push 5v. I know fxr's are 6v. If you got a bec you can set it to w/e you want, you would even notice a big difference with a bec set at 5v b/c it handles a much higher load, I think it's 10a.

Edit: Badd beat me to the post.
