Default Brushless Combos

I am planning on starting a new truck using the Axial SCX10, and want to use brushless. I'm more of a speed guy, with trailing and occasional crawling. And no, I don't want a Slash or Summit. I like solid axles. My question, I can get the CC Sidewinder 5700 combo or Novak Havoc 8.5T combo for $135 shipped each. Which one is better suited, or better overall?

Novak:

CC Sidewinder:

I will be using a 4200 battery and an MG946R Servo.

Forgot to add that I was also thinking about the 7T Puller, but I don't think that I can get an ESC that will handle it within my budget.

I'll b getting a scx10 also. I've never had experience with brushless but I do know that if you don't like it you can change to brushed with either one. The Novak seems more of a racer type esc. Of course, if you want to go fast it'll work.

The sidewinder can b hooked up to a PC for further customization with the castle link.

I see. Any ideas on a not so expensive ESC that can work with the 7T? The 7T has bot speed and torque, which I like. Picking between these is a toughie.

the sidewinder can't be pluged into the pc, only the mamba esc with usb connection plug in. maybe a brushless esc programed to brushed will work with the puller..?

The "7T" of the puller doesn't really mean anything because it is constructed differently from most brushed motors. I've seen others including the guy that owns Holmes Hobbies comment that to an ESC the puller is more in line with a ~35T or so "traditional" brushed motor. Bottomline, my understanding is that you don't need a special ESC to run it. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong...

you might be right, becuase the 7t in 30 amps at 7.4v so i think a standard esc could handle it? i think aero still wants brushless tough, less hasle.

Yes, less hassle. Still open for opinions, but leaning toward Brushless for now.
