Hello freaks, i bought an killer krawler kit and now i need two motors! Brushless systems are a bit to expensive for me so i want to try brushed motor. I really dont know which motor is the best for the crawler, some common 540 crawlermotor (which turn?) or cobalt puller 7 or 500... Do you have any idea? Some specs: Gear ratio: 30:1 tyre diameter: ~7" (maybe later some bigger) ESC: Tekin Fx-r pro Thanks Last edited by Karotte; 01-28-2009 at 02:10 PM.

i think its supposed to take 550 cans. so emaxx motors may be the way to go. the more turns the slower it ll turn.

I am building one too, if you need any building assistance we have 2 detailed builds on RC4WD Forum - check it out! I really like the JP Customs Crawl Max Motor 45T with the Tekin FXR Pro. This Motor uses a CheckPoint can and has a very nice linear power band If that combo is too much money, then try the Tekin FXR T45 ESC/Motor Rock Crawling Combo for about $123.00 - I think they make this combo in 35T, 45T and 55T. The difference between the Tekin Motor and the Crawl Max is the bottom end and the power band. The Tekin will be a bit on and off with the power band while the Crawl Max Motor is silk smooth all the way to the top. Again, this is my opinion with my experience and my driving habbits. Many others on this forum are far more experienced and will have a different opinion. Enjoy the build!

2 of the HH Cobalt Puller 7t's should do the trick. Pack plenty of battery in there to push em

What you mean to 2 cobalt puller 500? I think the cobalt puller 7 is too fast for my built! Any experience for the 500er?

The cobalt 500's are too small. The 7t would be just right, although a bit fast on higher voltages. Not much faster than a normal 35t though.

Two 55 turns seem fine. A Monster Max or a Mamba Max would work great too.
