Thunder Power 1350 Pro Power 30c review

Ok, so obviously I'm sponsored by Thunder Power so think what you want but I promise you this is an honest review"thumbsup" I'm no electonics genious but I'll try to answer questions as best I can.

I picked up a couple of Thunder Powers new Power Pro 1350mah 3s 30c packs about a month ago. I've been putting them through some good testing and comparison with other packs out there and I can say this is an amazing pack for crawling! Here's the specs

Capacity - 1350 mah
11.1v or 3s
Max Continuous Discharge - 30c
Max Burst Discharge - 60c
Max Continuous Current 41A
Max Burst Current 81A
Size 18 x 31 x 92mm

The first thing that got me excited was the C rating on these things. They are much higher than anything I've ever ran and man can you tell the difference:shock: It's taken my 45t motors to nearly the same speed as 35t motors. The low end punch is amazing too, it's addicting even8). When you need to bump or give it all you can there is alway power to spare.

Its incredible to me how noticable the difference was over what I had been running (1320 3s Thunder Power packs and before that 1550 3s Maxamps packs).

I've been getting about 35-45 minutes of run time in my 7lb berg with 45t Holmes Hobbies motors, Tekin FX-R, Castle BEC set to 6v, and Hitec 5990tg servo.

I've pushed them much harder than I've ever pushed a battery before with no problems whatsoever. They've never even gotten warm.

One thing that I've noticed but may be mistaken on though is that in the cold they don't seem to be as affected as other packs I've ran. That could just be me but I swear there is a difference there.

I guess the one thing that some people could complain about is the size but from what I have been told the longer battery is part of what let Thunder Power get the C rating so high. It's never bothered me though. They also make an 1800 and 2250 that are just slightly larger that would work well in crawlers and give added run time.

If you're looking for a pack that you don't have to worry about over working in your crawler and will wake up your crawler like a slap in the face give these a try.

You nailed everything you said Zack . I have had mine about 3 weeks or so . The 1350 is a great pack . I have ran mine hard and as you said they just keep taking it . "thumbsup"

who carries those ZACH?

Just Zach 03-17-2009 11:02 PM

Any LHS or vendor who carries Thunder Power will soon. They will be available very soon from what I understand. I'll get a real update asap. I've already emailed TP.

You might have been looking at the Pro Lite which is 19 x 34 x 65. They are a 20c pack and still should work well in most crawlers.

I am waiting on mine too, should be here any day.

Bummer on the length. I heard it was just a more popular size for certain planes and helis.

youngblood 04-02-2009 06:22 PM

Can I get one of these yet?

Looks promising "thumbsup"

JohnRobHolmes 04-02-2009 06:31 PM

Last I heard they were not on shores for retail yet.

Finally someone gets it! Someone who understands how battery quality effects things on a crawler you wouldnt expect. The temp thing you were wondering about... Thats just bacause they're so good that you dont notice it. Before every comp, I leave my packs in front of my pellet stove so they get to about 100+ degrees to the core. It makes a huge difference. I noticed about a 5MPH gain on my go fast car! Try heating the pack for about an hour and you will like it!

This kind of reminds me... I am in the process of doing a write up and testing, to explain(If my testing turns out like I think it will) how battery quality effects low end throttle controlability and torque. Thus far, my suspicions are correct.

But I am glad to see your having great luck. Thunder Power is one of the best brand out there.... Well anything with Enerland is about the best you can get besides Elite.

"thumbsup"I have agreed with you from the beginning, quality goes a long way"thumbsup"

I have seen these packs in action and they are nothing short of stellar...My only qual with them is there size in which the 2200mah and 2600mah are the same size...

I really like the new Thunder Power 1350mah 20c with the 40c burst they really get after it and a definite upgrade from the 1320's 13c and 20c burst...

I completely fluked and acquired a 2200 Pro series on the bay a while ago. JRH is probably not going to like me say that I run this on my 7t. It flat out smokes any other lipo I have owned. 60C 3s on a 7t is insane accel and wheelspeed! Almost too much. I'm totally hooked and looking to acquire a few more. Nice to know that they offer other variants now. Many "thumbsup" up for TP and the pro series.

I dunno if this is true, or my charger is just playing tricks on me, but i put my lipo's in a zip-lock bag after running and throw them in the freezer for 1/2 hour. I get about 25 more MAH's out of them when I do this.

Good review! I should have never sold my Thunder power pack...:-(

Got these in today. Two 1350's and a 1800. They are a little smaller than I was figuring on, which is a good thing.

The smaller one might if you have your servo shifted to one side or the other.

TEDROCKZ 05-18-2009 04:25 PM

No, because the 13c just will fit on the Axial aftermarket front axle mount. The 30c's are about 1-1/4'" longer the the 13c
