Anything with a 3 position 3rd channel should do the trick.

With a 2 position 3rd channel you'll only be able to use 4wd and rear lock.

Spectrum DX3R is a really nice radio, probably the most popular on here.

Do a search in the electronics section and you'll find lots of info.

seting it up is a breeze
a bit pricey but it'll be the last 3 channel radio you'll ever buy

I went with a little overkill, futabe 3pk. The 4pk would be serious overkill.

i love my DX3... the 3rd channel switch is a momentary switch, so as soon as you let go of the button it returns to center, which on my berg is 4wd. so if i want to lock the rear i push the button forward and hold it til i wanna go back to 4wd. its much nicer than having to remember which direction you have to hit the switch and how many times you have to hit it. just let it go and youre back to 4wd.

Yeah it sounds like a sweet radio but im kind of poor right now so is there anything out there that would do a good job for less or should i just not waste my time and start saving?

You could look for a used spectrum DX3 (not the DX3.0) they're not made anymore but they have a 3 position 3rd channel and they're pretty easy to modify with a 3 position switch so you don't have to hold the button when you use dig.

There's a thread around here somewhere on how to modify them.

I agree with him you can set the 3rd channel to be a 2,3, or 5 position switch or single position on/off button it haas the feature to set the channel to what switch you want to us for your 3rd channel

Here is a JR xr3 on ebay. Do a 3 position mod on the 3rd channel and its an awsome radio. This is what I use for crawling.

Here is the thread for modding it.

If you are broke, then the TQ3 with a center off mini toggle mod on the 3rd channel is the way to go. You can probably find one that's already been modded on here for about %25 with the rx.
