sidewinder with a cc bec, works great but Can I swap it out for a Micro sidewinder? sidewinder with a cc bec, works great but Can I swap it out for a Micro sidewinder? I am running a 50t venom motor, 1 high torque steering servo, 2 micro servos for the diffs, soon to be another servo for the dig and possibly a 3racing winch as well. I want to put my sidewinder back into my fast stadium truck and keep it in there to go fast now that my snow is melted. I originally got the sidewinder with the 5700kv motor and thought i would steal the esc out of the st for the winter.... and put it back when i could play outside again.... well turns out i like crawling more! so the crawler must be up and running. MY QUESTION IS: will a micro sidewinder work ok for crawling considering i already have a good BEC? |
i asked castle this very question not long ago... "we will not warrantee the sidewinder micro in a 1/10th truck"(not word for word but you get the idea) Some may say it will work if your careful... me I'd rather not risk burning up $60 or so(micro cost) when I know $70 or so (sidewinder 1/10 cost) will get the job done with out question"thumbsup" Either way you need a good BEC so that point is moot... |
anyone care to chime in? looks to me like the other upside would be a smaller esc, and from what i have seen on youtube, near waterproof? only thing i can see is the motor and battery wires are smaller guage, is that correct? |
Why not just order a 1/10th sidewinder esc? the micro is rated for 35amps continuous and the 1/10th is rated at 60-70amps continuous. Plus its only ten dollars more than a micro. $75 http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...8&cat=2&page=1 |
