Heck, it's only $20, try it out, if it isn't worth it, it's not like you broke you bank getting it.

Default So far so good

It seems to be very responsive and stout. It is a little on th noisy side.

I have one that arrived last week from CPE. For the price $20,its not bad. the response time is slightly faster than the toward 946r and torque seems to be about the same. I was able to take it out this past Sat at the hobbytown gtg and it was flawless. I just need to adjust my BEC from 6.0 to 7.2V, bumping it up may highten the performance parameters if I do. I can agree with most of the buyers of the servo, that its one noisy ass servo. Its the loudest I've ever had. I'm heading out to hawaii this weekand will get a chance to see how well the servo does at the comp. I've got the toward pro as backup just in case something goes wrong.

Got it installed and WOW. Better than I was expecting by far. Much faster than the 995 and very good torque. I held one of the front wheels and turned the tx wheel and the servo turned hard enough to bend the bold for my steering links. Good stuff great price. Lets see how it holds up.

Just picked one up for a project I'm building.

I will be running at 5v and it says it puts out 208 oz-in.

I am replacing an MG 645 that says 106.93 oz/in at 4.8V...should be an improvement.

Any long term reports?

I got mine yesterday and installed it last night, seems to have good power but there were a couple of things that concerned me. There is a little bit of side to side play in the ouput which causes a little steering slop. I can live with that but I am worried about it allowing gear mesh change leading to gear failure. The second thing is that when the servo was really loaded up and stalled for more than a few seconds my esc would go full throttle and I would loose all throttle and steering control. The only way to stop it is to turn the esc switch off. It only happened when I was holding the wheels and turning to "feel" how strong the servo is so maybe it won't actually be an issue on the rocks.

That is what I thought so to test my theory I ran with a reviever pack over the weekend and the problem went away. I just ordered CC BEC from holmes and told them to set it to 7.2v, should be interesing to see how it does .

So far so good with the servo though. Like I said, it has a little play but nothing too bad. It does seem stronger than my old 645mg and it took a pretty hard beating over the weekend, seems my buddies 5yr old kid only knows full throttle and sent my rig on a couple of good tumbles.

Runnin one on my mini.
1st run proved that a BEC was in order.
Installed and BINGO, this servo has enough torque to swivel the back end of my mini when I hold the front wheels between my feet.
Did fine at the comp yesterday with no problems at all. Trust me when I say, we all abused our mini's alot too.
Worth the $40 for the 2 of them and I will be getting more if they stay at this price.
Thanks
JC

How are these doing on 7 volts?

I ordered a BEC from HolmesHobbies and I accidentally set the scroll down menu for 7 instead of 6 volts...didn't notice untill i was checking the invoice today.

I don't know if he got my message soon enough so if it does come programmed at 7 volts, is it going to fry the servo?

Nevermind...I see they are rated to 7.2!

i'm on my 2nd one....my first messed up (a wire came loose inside the case) and Crawford replaced it with pretty much no questions asked! I pm'd them and said it messed up, he said ship it back and a new one will be sent out! So, now i'm on my 2nd and i really like it for the price, and the customer service is AWESOME.

I was running mine through the BEC at 7 volts and things were going good.

I lost steering and just assumed that my battery was too weak, so I quit crawling.

Now when I try to power it up, nothing happens.

If i pull it apart, will I be able to tell if it's fried?
