Default Venom Charger and Lipos Settings

This is my first time with Lipo's

I am moving to Lipo and picked a 25c 1500mah 11.1v 3C Lipo and was just wondering with the Venom Pro Charger how do you have the setting setup.

Any input is appreciated. I just do not want to burn my house to the ground

I dont know about that specific charger but if you know how to change the charge settings on most all lipos other than a few exceptions you should charge them at a 1C rating. So for your battery youll want to charge it at a 1.5 amp setting which means it will charge to full capacity in 1 hour. that is the safe charge rate for lipos. The only time you get the dangers of fire or damaging lipos is when they are charged at too high of a charge rate. Always charge them at 1C unless you guy one of the high dollar fast charge lipos but those are not very common.

also check to make sure your charger is set for 11.1 volt and lipo and your ready to go

Go to program and set capacity cut off to 1500 mah. Then go to save data and put in the info, Lipo, 7.4, 1.3 amp charge rate, and save it. Then go to load data and hold down till beeps, go to balace charge. Make sure info is right,7.4.1.3 amps, Hold till beeps and it will check battery and ask you to confirm, push till beeps to start. Then it will start charging.. Make sure you plug in temp sensor and set your battery ON it. If temp goes above 120/130 it will cut it off.
Once you figure out the settin g these are great chargers!!

Thanks Rottenbelly.

I just do not want to set my house on fire yet. Maybe if house prices fall a little more.

So in theory the Venom Charger is almost dummy proof

Pretty much. It wont let you charge them if its not programmed right. Mine lipos have so much as never gotten hot when charging. I have charged from micro-t lipos to 3s comp rig lipos and everything else. No problems to date. I charged batteries almost all day today. Flew 2 helicopters, ran the slash a few times. Mini-t, mini crawler, micro-t and baja, blizzard a few times and 2 other crawlers. This thing was just a little warm and its been going all day. great charger!!

rottenbelly gave you settings for a 1300 mah 2s lipo. I dont know why?

The correct settings should be Lipo, 11.1v, 1.5 amp charge rate

Crap you guys are right. But the venom will confirm that also. I saw 25c and thought 2 c. DOOOUUUUHHHHH. Sorry about that!!

I alway charge mine a hair less than the 1c rating deal,(1.5 i charge 1.3) just always seemed to help my batteries last a little longer. Cycle wise. No proof just preference.

Since a 1500mah is 1.5 amps what would a 1350mah be in my case 1.3 or 1.4 amp? Any help would be grateful.
