I am looking at getting the scx10 kit and add my own electronics. I run a fxr/55t combo in my creeper. I like the tekin setup but is is it good for this rig and if so what turn should i go with? I am looking for all around performance crawling, trail, mud. thanks for your thoughts.

I would go with a 40-35 turn motor. And just gear it down/87 spur and 14 pinion.

tekin fxr is just fine in the honcho. I like the reply above me recommend a 35t. You want the wheel speed for trail runs, and they still crawl along as slow as you want too. I have the sidewinder in my honcho and my ax10 and love them. I have a mamba max in my berg which is great. Best thing about the fxr is the size, and if you ever waterproof it the small esc is helpful when trying to get your electronics in a waterproof box. |

I got the FX-R w/ the 35t Motor. Id say go with that. IT gives you good wheel speed when on the trail and the good crawling speed for rocks and stuff.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd ask my question here. Planning on getting a honcho. I want to use what I have laying around, so will this setup get me started?: -xl5 esc -generic 40t lathe motor -Traxxas 2075 servo -2.4ghz Traxxas link tx rx Funds are a bit tight, so I'd like my girlfriend to not kill me if possible. First (electronic) upgrade will probably be to an esc with drag brake. Look like a plan? |

Instead of going with the fxr i see a lot of you are using the holmes hobbies esc. other than it being waterproof, how does the brake work and what are your thoughts
