I love my JR 9303 for my heli and planks. Is there a set-up that has become preferable to a pistol grip radio that some users prefer sticks to the normal pistol type radio,,,thaks,,,Mike

I just switched to a stick, and I will never go back to a pistol grip. My comp rig gets better controll( a motor on each stick) And my scaler rig, winch is fully proportional!! Since my scaler winch is strong enough to pull my frame in half, this is important I really Don't know why people always use pistol grip radios? I guess its habbit, or just what everyone is used to.

I used to be sold on stick radios for full control until I got the Futaba 4pk. It has enough channels for a crawler and enough mixing to do everything. No more bulky stick radio's for me, unless I am flying my planes.

What so ya think about this for a setup. right stick (elavator)/ forward and reverse (stick is spring loaded for getting back to nuetrel) right stick (aileron)/ front wheel steer left stick (throttle)/ at full forward=front dig, at full back=rear dig (can you set the radio to do this? the "full forward or reverse thing) left stick (rudder) rear wheel steer

I use a DX6i for my scaler and comp rig, I prefer it to the DX3.0 that I was using. I have much better throttle control, a much better range for reverse and I was able to built a gate to control the 3 positions for my homemade dig unit. I rotated the left control 90* so that I had a spring return for throttle and I adjusted the friction for the shifter control. | |

I have a jr x9303 and I will never go back to my dx3.0. I don 't know why but it seems to crawl a whole lot better. I run my ax10 off of it and soon my berg. I would use a stick radio cause you have so much more control. But my dads 4pk would kick the crap out of my crawler. Last edited by HRT5SLCFD; 05-03-2009 at 04:30 PM.

I prefer pistal grip radios myself, but with my scaler and dual motor crawlers, I've started using a stick radio. It takes some getting used to, for crawlers, and I fly helis too, but I'll get it once I get some more stick time.

Well i use throttle (left stick up & down)for my front motor, elevator (right stick up & down)for the rear, and the rudder (left stick left & right)for the front steering servo. I have also use a mixing chanel so i can switch the gear switch and all four wheels move off the throttle stick, and when I move it back I can use the two sticks to control each motor. There are so many diferent digs that the 4pk can't even touch. But the 4pk is an awsome radio too. Last edited by HRT5SLCFD; 05-04-2009 at 06:45 PM.
